Exercise is Medicine® clinics – Qatar (EIMQ) are located at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sport Medicine Hospital, it has been established to assist and work with people who suffer from or at risk of developing inactivity related chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and osteoarthritis. The clinic also is developing to include programs for the elderly and those suffering from obesity

EIMQ is considered as the main platform for clinicians, exercise specialists and other allied health professionals in promoting health and physical activity among these special populations

Step into health is a dynamic program initiated by Aspire Zone Foundation, and under the supervision and management of Exercise is Medicine Department of Aspetar. The program promotes the concept of holistic health change to engage the people of Qatar in a self-managed lifelong program based on a moderate amount of daily physical activity, encouraging each person to walk 10,000 steps and more a day in a non-competitive, recreational and social approach. It is a multi- interventions program using tools which set targets for physical activity and can help individuals monitor their performance linked to an online program. The trick to healthy living is making changes in your lifestyle to become fitter and healthier.

Children Health Programs

Qatar Active Schools (QAS)
Namat - For a Healthy Lifestyle

QAS is one of Aspetar initiatives in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education that aim to promote inclusive and diverse physical activity opportunities throughout the school day and to ‘make healthy choices, easy choices’ for students, and the broader school community.
It is an evidence-based best practices model to enhance the physical, mental, and social development of every child in Qatar by incorporating physical activity into the culture of schools and sustaining it through school, family and community partnerships.

Haraka-wa-Seha (HWS) is an Exercise is Medicine Department initiative targeting children in Qatar. It aims to promote physical activity, improve fitness and maintain normal weight, in addition to providing education about healthy habits and practices associated with chronic diseases. HWS consists of interactive sport sessions Interspersed by health education. The program is considered as one of the recommended afterschool activities for young children.

Healthy Chef Program is an Aspetar initiative that promotes healthy lifestyle to the community in Qatar. It aims to develop healthful dietary habits through interactive educational lessons including grocery shopping skills, healthy food selections, preparation, and proper food portions
